In a recent interview, the actress recounted a startling experience in which a director entered her van without knocking while she was in the process of changing.

In a recent interview with Filmygyan, Shalini Pandey reflected on an uncomfortable experience with a director who displayed poor etiquette. She recounted, "At the beginning of my career, while working on a South film, the director entered my van without knocking. I was in the process of changing when he simply opened the door and walked in."

Describing her immediate response, Shalini stated, "I yelled out in shock. I completely lost my composure. I was just 22 at the time." Although some individuals later suggested that she should not have reacted so strongly, she maintained that she needed to assert herself in that situation.

The actress further noted that she established boundaries early in her career to safeguard herself. She acknowledged that although she had collaborated with some remarkable men in the industry, she had also faced experiences with "horrid men."

Reflecting on her path as an outsider, Shalini confessed that she does not hail from a film family and lacked guidance when she began her journey. "I had no one to turn to, so I had to navigate everything independently," she explained.

"At first, I was uncertain, but I appreciate that aspect of myself. I was inexperienced, yet I maintained strict boundaries. For instance, I would assert myself firmly," she reminisced.

In the Netflix series Dabba Cartel, Shalini Pandey portrays Raji, a homemaker who, together with her maid Mala and several others, becomes embroiled in a perilous drug operation masquerading as a tiffin service. Shalini is featured in a talented ensemble cast that includes Shabana Azmi, Jyotika, Nimisha Sajayan, and Anjali Anand, all of whom depict other women entangled in the drug cartel.
