OTTplay has earlier reported that Colors Bangla would present a brand-new medium for the Bengali audience on television: Limited serials. Three such new serials, each with one hundred episodes, were set to start. It was heard that the shooting started before Durga Puja. But the work is temporarily paused. The shooting did not restart even after Kali Puja. Joydeep Mukherjee, the chief of Artage Media, talked about it.
Joydeep is producing one of the three serials. Abhimanyu Mukherjee is the creative director. However, the Federation of Cine Technicians & Workers of Eastern India has raised objections. They reportedly claimed that these shows would not be considered serials since they consist of only a hundred episodes. It created some problems.
Joydeep told Sangbad Pratidin Digital, "Our shooting was stopped for the last two days. As far as we know, there are some issues regarding increasing rates between the channel and the Federation. We hope that it will be resolved soon. We will definitely incur a loss if the work is not done."
He further said, "This is our first production. We got cooperation from the Federation. I hope it will be resolved, and we will restart soon." Is there some controversy regarding whether the three are serials or series? Joydeep said he did not know, though the three started as mega serials. If the issue is not resolved, then they will seek a meeting with the Federation the next week and talk to find a solution.
