Saqib Saleem has received appreciation for his performance in Raj & DK's web series Citadel: Honey Bunny. The web show, which starred Varun Dhawan and Samantha in the lead roles, premiered on Amazon Prime Video on November 7. While Varun and Samantha promoted the series, Saqib's absence from the trailer launch and promotions raised eyebrows. This led to speculations of Saqib's rift with the makers. Now, the actor has finally reacted to these rumours.

In an interview with Mid-Day, Saqib Saleem opened up about the rumour of him being miffed with Citadel: Honey Bunny makers. "There was a narrative that the makers wanted to give out and that narrative concealed the impact of my character. So, my being there would have been detrimental to that narrative," he said.
The actor believes it is essential to talk to people only after one's project has been released. "Usually hum release se pehle prachar karte hain aur release hote hi holiday pe chale jate hain (Usually, we promote our projects before release and once it is out, we go on a holiday). I want to change that a little. I feel like it's better conversation post-release," he told the tabloid.

In the same conversation, Saqib Saleem admitted that he had reservations about shaving his head for Raj & DK's Citadel: Honey Bunny. "When it came to cutting my hair, I was very nervous because I'm the only male member in my family who has hair left now. Everybody else is bald (laughs)," he shared.
