Chunky Panday has been an integral figure in the Indian entertainment industry for nearly forty years. Throughout this extensive career, he has experienced a diverse range of roles, from leading characters to providing comic relief, and more recently, portraying antagonists. Additionally, he now embraces the roles of a father to a rising star and a husband to another. In an engaging conversation with HT, Chunky expressed his immense joy regarding the flourishing careers of his daughter Ananya and his wife Bhavana.

Chunky on being called Ananya's dad, Bhavana's husband

When inquired about his response to various generations who recognize him from different films, Chunky chuckled and remarked, "Nowadays, people approach me as Ananya Panday's father. It occurs frequently that someone requests a photograph, and when I inquire, 'How do you know me?' they respond, 'You are Ananya Panday's dad.' It brings me immense joy. There is no greater happiness than being acknowledged because of your child."

Moreover, his wife Bhavana has also emerged as a notable figure, thanks to the Netflix series Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives. Chunky elaborates, "Interestingly, while we were in Paris, people recognized Bhavana first due to her Netflix show. The series has been dubbed into several languages and has gained popularity in France. During our time in Paris, individuals would approach me saying, 'You're the husband; could you take our picture, please?' Witnessing the success of those around you is truly the most fulfilling experience."

Chunky notes that he now attracts a diverse range of fans—older millennials who remember him as Babban from Tezaab, younger Gen Z viewers who recognize him as Aakhri Pasta from Housefull, as well as admirers of Ananya and Bhavana. "So, whether I am known as Ananya's father, Bhavana's husband, Aakhri Pasta, or Babban, I am truly living the dream," he states with a smile.

Chunky on the daughter Rysa's criticism

While three people from the Panday household are part of the entertainment industry, Chunky says that the one with the highest standards is the fourth - his younger daughter, Rysa. He says, "Rysa's standards are very high. She doesn't like just about anything. It's good because sometimes you need that ISI standard in your life. She's a good filter." The actor admits it is good to have such diverse thought processes under one roof. "We all know think differently. She's more conservative. I'm more adventurous, Ananya is the most level-headed, and Rysa's tastes are just so high," he says.

Chunky will next appear in Griha Laxmi, a web series in which he plays a ruthless don. The series also stars Hina Khan, Rahul Dev, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya and premieres on Epic On on January 16.
