Gene Hackman, the esteemed actor celebrated for his memorable performances in films such as The French Connection and Unforgiven, was married to his first spouse, Faye Maltese, from 1956 until 1986. Throughout their marriage, they welcomed three children: a son named Christopher and two daughters, Elizabeth and Leslie.

Christopher Allan Hackman, 63

In 1960, Hackman celebrated the birth of his first child, Christopher Allan Hackman, with Maltese. During a 1984 interview with journalist Leta Powell, he was inquired whether he had transitioned from hugging his son, who was then in his twenties, to offering a handshake instead.

The actor responded, “No, we still embrace to this day, and I am grateful that we can do so.” He further remarked, “I don’t believe there will ever come a time when we resort to handshakes. That was quite a stretch for me in the film, and one of the most unfeeling actions is to disregard a child's need to be held in a father's embrace,” as reported by People.

Elizabeth Jean Hackman, 61

The couple welcomed their second child, a daughter named Elizabeth Jean Hackman, in August 1962. Due to Hackman's tendency to keep his personal life and family matters private during interviews, there is limited information available about Elizabeth. Nevertheless, she was frequently seen accompanying her father at various events, including the screening of Superman in Washington, DC, in 1978.

Years later, in October 1996, she was photographed with Hackman, her younger sister Leslie, and their stepmother, Betsy Arakawa, at the screening of The Chamber in Beverly Hills.

Leslie Anne Hackman, 57

Leslie Anne Hackman, the youngest of Gene Hackman’s three offspring, was born in October 1966 to Hackman and his first spouse, Faye Maltese. Similar to her elder siblings, Leslie has largely led a private existence, although she has been spotted in public alongside her father on occasion.

Throughout the years, she has attended several prominent events with Hackman, such as the 41st Annual Golden Globe Awards in January 1984, the premiere of The Godfather Part III in December 1990, and the Class Action premiere in March 1991. Despite these rare appearances, Leslie has predominantly remained out of the public eye.
