Actor Chiranjeevi is currently in the United Kingdom, where he was recently awarded a Lifetime Achievement accolade by Bridge India at the House of Commons. However, he recently addressed an issue concerning some organizers who attempted to charge fees for fan meet events, calling them out on social media.

Chiranjeevi reacts to money being collected for fan meets

In a post on social media, Chiranjeevi expressed his gratitude for the affection shown by his fans in the UK but condemned the actions of those trying to impose charges for fan meetings. He stated on X (formerly Twitter), “My Dear Fans, I am truly moved by your love and desire to meet me in the UK. However, I have been made aware that certain individuals are trying to collect fees for these gatherings. I strongly denounce this conduct.”

The actor further assured his fans that any funds collected would be refunded, urging them to remain vigilant against such practices. He wrote, “Any fees collected by anyone will be refunded immediately. Please be cautious and understand that I will NEVER endorse such actions, anywhere. The bond of love and affection we share is invaluable and should not be commercialized in any way. Let us maintain our interactions genuine and free from exploitation.”

Fans also shared a video from the fan meet where Chiranjeevi reiterated his stance, stating, “No one can monetize our love for one another. No one has the right to do so, and I condemn what has transpired. I appreciate everyone for their support.”

Recent work

Chiranjeevi's most recent film, Bhola Shankar, released in 2023, did not perform well at the box office and featured co-stars Keerthy Suresh and Tamannaah Bhatia. Earlier that year, he appeared in the successful film Waltair Veerayya alongside Shruti Haasan and Ravi Teja. Chiranjeevi is set to star in Vassishta’s socio-fantasy film Vishwambhara, which is expected to be released during Sankranthi. He has also agreed to participate in a project directed by Srikanth Odela.
