Telugu actor Chiranjeevi has caused disappointment among his fans with his recent remarks. During the pre-release event of Brahma Anandam, he expressed his feelings regarding the absence of a grandson to continue his legacy.

What did Chiranjeevi say?

He expressed that when he is at home, it does not feel as though he is in the company of his granddaughters; rather, it resembles the environment of a ladies' hostel, with women surrounding him. He often finds himself wishing and urging Ram Charan to have a son this time to ensure the continuation of their legacy, yet he acknowledges that Charan's daughter is his pride and joy. He admits to a fear that Charan may once again have a daughter. Chiranjeevi is the father of Ram Charan, who welcomed his daughter Klin Kaara with his wife Upasana Konidela in 2023.

Reactions to his comment were predictably unfavorable. "The choice of words by Chiranjeevi garu is quite disheartening. If she is a girl, why should there be fear? Girls carry forward the legacy just as boys do, or even surpass them. Such statements made publicly send a detrimental message and regress our society. The laughter in response to those words reflects our declining mindset."

"In recent days, Chiranjeevi has tarnished his image, incorporating vulgar language during performances and making remarks about female children not being heirs. He has also commented on illicit affairs and has not consistently supported his brother, Pawan Kalyan garu, when needed, despite claiming Janasena as his own," stated a tweet.

"Dear Chiranjeevi garu, I hold you in high regard as an actor. However, I seek clarification regarding your recent remarks. They appeared misogynistic and suggested that only male children can carry on a legacy. Did you genuinely intend to convey this? Are you uneasy about the prospect of your son and daughter-in-law having another daughter? Or was this comment made in jest at Brahmanandam’s film event?" inquired another individual.

"Chiranjeevi seems to be apprehensive that his son Ram Charan may have another daughter in 2025, perpetuating the obsession with male heirs. This is disappointing yet not unexpected. I have a daughter and have been told by countless individuals to have a son next. It is disheartening when people expect us to control what is beyond our influence," remarked another.

About Chiranjeevi's bond with Klin Kaara

Chiranjeevi was the individual who proclaimed the arrival of Klin Kaara in 2023. In a tweet, he stated, “The baby’s name is ‘Klin Kaara Konidela.’ Derived from the Lalitha Sahasranamam, the name ‘Klin Kaara’ represents a transformative purifying energy that facilitates spiritual awakening. We are all confident that this little one, our Little Princess, will embody these qualities as she matures.”

In 2023, Chiranjeevi was last featured in the films Waltair Veerayya and Bhola Shankar; the former achieved commercial success, while the latter did not perform well. He is set to appear in Vishwambhara, directed by Vassishta, which was initially scheduled for release during Sankranthi but has since been delayed. Additionally, he will be involved in a project directed by Srikanth Odela. Ram's most recent film, Game Changer, was released during Sankranthi but did not achieve significant success. He is also expected to star in upcoming films directed by Buchi Babu Sana and Sukumar.
