Chhaava, featuring Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna, and Akshaye Khanna, has received significant acclaim from audiences, critics, and notable personalities alike. In light of these positive reviews, the government of Madhya Pradesh has declared the film tax-free. During an event, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced this decision via a video posted on his official X account.

Chhaava is now tax-free in Madhya Pradesh

The film Chhaava is now exempt from taxes in Madhya Pradesh. Laxman Utekar's historical action film has been granted tax-free status in the state. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav shared this announcement on his X account, stating, "In honour of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's birth anniversary, I declare the Hindi film 'Chhaava', which centres on his son Sambhaji Maharaj, to be tax-free."

In response to the requests for the film's tax-exempt status, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed his satisfaction regarding the production of a commendable film based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Although he has not yet viewed the film, he noted that he has received positive feedback from others, indicating that it has been created without altering historical facts.

He also mentioned that the entertainment tax for films was abolished in Maharashtra in 2017. "We will explore the best ways to promote this film and ensure it reaches a wide audience," he remarked.

Alia Bhatt and Karan Johar commend Chhaava  

On February 19, Alia Bhatt shared a post about Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava on her Instagram Story, exclaiming, "Vicky Kaushal! What are you???? I cannot get over your performance in Chhaava! @vickykaushal09." She also expressed admiration for Akshaye Khanna and Rashmika Mandanna.

In a similar vein, Karan Johar described the film as 'solid.' He stated, "Vicky Kaushal is exceptional and serves as the SOUL and heartbeat of every frame, while Akshaye Khanna delivers an exemplary performance! Congratulations to Dinoo, Laxman, and the entire team at @maddockfilms."

Chhaava follows the life of Chatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the second ruler of the Maratha Empire. It is an adaptation of the Marathi novel Chhava by Shivaji Sawant.
