An inebriated person was detained at a cinema in Bharuch, Gujarat, as reported. Footage circulating on social media shows a man damaging the large screen during the screening of the newly released film Chhaava.

Intoxicated patron damages movie screen  

According to the report, the incident occurred on Sunday night at RK Cinemas. During the 11:45 PM screening, the suspect, identified as Jayesh Vasava, ascended the podium and used a fire extinguisher to tear the screen, creating a significant tear before being restrained by the theatre staff.

Fans and audience members have exhibited various unusual behaviours during the screenings of Chhaava. Notably, a video that gained significant attention on Tuesday depicted a man arriving at a movie theatre on horseback, dressed as the film's main character.

Chhaava features Vicky Kaushal in the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, portraying the valiant Maratha ruler's narrative, which commences with his coronation in 1681.

The cast also includes Akshaye Khanna and Rashmika Mandana. However, the film has faced controversy, particularly regarding a dance sequence in which the character of Sambhaji Maharaj performs the Lezim, a traditional Maharashtrian dance. This scene was removed following objections from political figures, including Maharashtra Minister Uday Samant.

On its opening day, the film earned ₹33.10 crores at the Indian box office, and its current global box office total is reported to be ₹145 crores, according to the film's producers.

Despite the obstacles encountered during its production, Vicky Kaushal expresses pride in his portrayal of the character, stating, "I'm just happy that I get to say that this is the toughest role I've played to date. I hope I can continue to grow, not just as an actor but as a human being, with every role I take on."
