Actress Kristin Davis, recognized for her portrayal of Charlotte York in the acclaimed series Sex and the City and its sequel And Just Like That, has disclosed a distressing incident that occurred during the filming of the show. In a specific episode, she was requested to reveal her chest. Despite her hesitations, it is reported that the showrunner exerted pressure on her to go ahead with the scene.

Kristin Davis was pressured into flashing her chest

In a recent episode of her podcast, Are You a Charlotte?, Kristin discussed the background of several scenes in which she appeared unclothed. She revealed that a showrunner from Sex and the City compelled her to expose her chest.

In the first episode of Season 5, Charlotte reveals her chest at a Navy party. The actress described the experience as "mortifying," expressing her reluctance to participate in the scene. She disclosed that Michael Patrick King insisted she go through with it.

"Michael Patrick made me do it. He kept assuring me, ‘It’ll be fine. It’ll be great.’ And it was. But we were in a restaurant with people all around,” she recounted.

The actress labeled the scene as "mortifying" to film, recalling the significant stress it caused her. Ultimately, she managed to laugh off the director's insistence, stating, “It’s OK. He knows.” The director has yet to respond to her comments.

In a recent conversation with Jenny Bicks, one of the writers for the HBO series, the actor discussed the difficulties she faced while filming her first completely nude scene in Season 6. She described it as “challenging,” emphasizing its significance to the storyline.

She remarked, “It was a very, very integral part of the storyline. Because it wasn’t sexual, it’s much easier to have some nudity in a non-sexual way, in a spiritual way.”

The original series, created by Darren Star, was adapted from a novel by Candace Bushnell and aired from 1998 to 2004. The film versions were released in theaters in 2008 and 2010. The cast included Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon, and Sarah Jessica Parker. The series was later revived with "And Just Like That," which explores the women's experiences as they transition from the complexities of life and friendship in their 30s to those in their 50s.
