Author Chetan Bhagat recently reflected on his initial encounter with Salman Khan, highlighting the actor's distinctive presence. In an interview with Lallantop, Chetan recounted Salman's response to being overwhelmed by fans eager for a photograph, noting that the actor's words left a lasting impression on him.
Chetan mentioned that this meeting occurred during the production of Hello, a film adaptation of his novel One Night @ the Call Center, directed by Atul Agnihotri, who is married to Salman’s sister, Alvira. He described receiving an invitation to Galaxy Apartments, Salman’s home, as akin to “visiting a galaxy.”
Chetan recalls first meeting with Salman
Recalling his first experience at Galaxy Apartments, Chetan praised Salman, stating, "Salman possesses a sixth sense. He can determine whether he appreciates someone by assessing their authenticity—those who seek nothing from him. If he takes a liking to you, he might say, ‘Yeh kya body hai, kal se tu aaraha hai mere saath workout karne’ (What a body you have! From tomorrow, you’re coming to work out with me).”
Chetan on how Salman feels when fans get desparate for a pic with him
While their first encounter was brief, Bhagat's more meaningful interaction with Salman occurred during his time as a screenplay writer for the film Kick. He reminisced about a memorable statement from Salman: "I recall during the promotion of Hello, I interviewed him and inquired about his feelings on having crowds constantly pursuing him for pictures. He remarked, ‘I feel like a monkey in a zoo,’ but then he added, ‘Sometimes it can be irritating, but I know that when this attention fades, everything will fade with it.’ This statement has stayed with me. Although my experiences are on a much smaller scale, whenever I feel frustrated at the airport, I think of Salman’s words, ‘When this goes, everything goes.’
