Aroh Welankar recently made his Bollywood debut with Kabir Khan's Chandu Champion. The actor played the role of Kartik Aaryan's son in the film. It is based on India's first Paralympic gold medalist, Murlikant Petkar. In OTTplay's exclusive interview, Aroh reflected on the struggles he has faced in his career. Welankar opened up about a film that he was supposed to do with Suniel Shetty and Riteish Deshmukh. The actor revealed it was a film called Baada, a prequel to Ram Gopal Varma's Sarkar.

Aroh Welankar opens up about his struggles

In an exclusive chat with OTTplay, Aroh Welankar revealed his real struggle began after a big film that he was supposed to do, didn't materialise. The actor recalled he was going to a project named Baada, which was a prequel to Sarkar. It was a bilingual project wherein Aroh was going to play the younger version of Subhash Nagre (the character played by Amitabh Bachchan in RGV's Sarkar).

"Since my first film was a hit and I won several awards, I was catapulted into this group. I didn't face the struggle initially. But after that, I was a doing very big film Baada, which was a prequel to Sarkar, where I was playing Subhash Nagre, Amitji's younger version. It was a very big role and film. It was a bilingual film with Suniel Shetty, Riteish Deshmukh, and others. Unfortunately, that film didn't happen. I gave two years to that project. Mera ulta hua. After delivering a hit film, I had to start my struggle by going and meeting people and giving auditions," revealed Aroh.

Aroh Welnakar on his family's reaction to his acting career

Continuing the conversation, Aroh revealed his family initially had apprehensions about him pursuing a full-time career in acting. 

"I started with theatre when I was doing engineering. While doing theatre, I bagged my first film, which was a super hit in Marathi cinema. Then, I decided to give it (acting) a try. Initially, I had to struggle to convince my family ki mujhe ye karne do because I come from a very typical Marathi middle-class family, who had apprehensions about me pursuing acting as a full-time career," added Welankar.

On the work front, Aroh will be seen in Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat.
