In a surprising twist, the Telangana police have lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against 25 well-known celebrities and influencers, including big names like Rana Daggubati, Prakash Raj, Vijay Deverakonda, and Manchu Lakshmi. They are accused of promoting illegal betting and gambling apps to their vast follower base. This shocking development follows a petition from businessman PM Phanindra Sarma, who alleges that these stars have been leveraging their social media clout to entice fans into investing in risky, unregulated gambling platforms.

The FIR, submitted at the Miyapur Police Station in Hyderabad, has sent shockwaves through the entertainment sector. The complaint raises serious concerns about a troubling trend where celebrities are reportedly receiving large sums to endorse these dubious gambling apps, which breach the Public Gambling Act of 1867. Sarma uncovered this issue while talking to young people in his community, realizing that many had been drawn into gambling their hard-earned cash on these illegal apps, influenced by celebrities they admired.

The complaint outlines how these influencers, with their extensive reach and trustworthiness, have been promoting these apps, which have ensnared many vulnerable individuals, particularly from lower and middle-class backgrounds. The apps' misleading promises of quick and easy money have left numerous people in financial distress. Sarma, who almost fell victim himself, shared that he was close to investing in one of these platforms but decided against it after his family cautioned him about the potential dangers.

The list of celebrities facing accusations reads like a who's who of the entertainment scene: Rana Daggubati, Prakash Raj, Vijay Deverakonda, Manchu Lakshmi, Praneetha, Nidhi Agarwal, Ananya Nagella, Siri Hanumanthu, Sreemukhi, Varshini Sounderajan, and many more. These stars are now under serious investigation, with police charging them under various sections of the TS Gaming Act and the IT Act, including Section 66(D) of the Information Technology Act, which deals with cheating and identity theft.

This scandal has rocked the entertainment industry, leaving fans questioning their favorite stars' involvement in such ethically and legally dubious actions. As the investigation unfolds, authorities are committed to holding these prominent figures responsible for the alleged harm they've caused to innocent individuals seeking financial security. This case is poised to become one of the most talked-about legal dramas in recent history.
