Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna has experienced a disconnect with various Bollywood personalities for an extended period. Recently, he has expressed criticism towards Zeenat Aman for her endorsement of live-in relationships and directed remarks at Sonakshi Sinha for her inability to respond to a question regarding the Ramayana. Additionally, Mukesh has voiced his disapproval of Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Saif Ali Khan, and Kapil Sharma. He is widely recognized for his iconic role as India's first superhero, Shaktimaan, in the television series Shaktimaan (1997–2005) and for portraying Bhishma in BR Chopra's Mahabharat (1988–1990).

1. Sonakshi Sinha.

In 2019, Sonakshi made an appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) 11, where she struggled to provide the correct answer to a question concerning the Ramayana. In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, Mukesh attributed this gap in knowledge to Shatrughan Sinha, suggesting that he failed to educate Sonakshi about the Ramayana. Mukesh emphasized the necessity for contemporary youth to have figures like Shaktimaan to guide them. He alluded to Sonakshi's inability to answer the question, and when prompted about whether he was referring to her, he remarked, "Luv Kush is the name of their bungalow. People were upset, saying, 'She doesn't know.' I responded that it is not Sonakshi's fault; it is her father's responsibility. Why did you not inform your children? Why did you allow them to become so modern?"

On Monday, Sonakshi addressed Mukesh's comments, urging him to refrain from questioning her father's parenting.

2) Akshay Kumar

In August of this year, Mukesh expressed his discontent regarding Akshay's promotion of tobacco during an interview with Bollywood Bubble. He stated, “If you ask me, I would advocate for them to be apprehended and punished. I have conveyed this to them directly. I have even reprimanded Akshay Kumar. He is typically a health-conscious individual, yet he engages in this behavior. Ajay Devgn and now Shah Rukh Khan also follow suit, greeting with ‘aadaab’. Enormous sums of money are allocated for these advertisements. What message are we conveying to the public? They claim they are not marketing pan-masala, but rather supari (betel nut). However, they are fully aware of their actions.”

3) Zeenat Aman

In April of this year, Zeenat proposed that couples consider entering into a live-in relationship prior to marriage. In an interview with Dainik Jagran, Mukesh expressed his views, stating, “Live-in relationships lack recognition within our cultural and historical context. This concept has its origins in Western civilization. Zeenat Aman’s perspective reflects her life experiences shaped by Western values. It is inappropriate for a young man and woman to become acquainted through cohabitation as if they were married; one must contemplate the implications of such arrangements. Those advocating for this should consider their words carefully.”

4) Ranveer Singh

A few months prior, Mukesh revealed plans for an ambitious motion picture centred around Shaktimaan. In March of this year, he addressed rumours regarding Ranveer Singh's involvement in the role of the superhero through a YouTube video. He stated, "I have made it clear that no matter how prominent a star maybe, someone with such an image cannot portray Shaktimaan. I have taken a firm stance. Now, we shall see what unfolds." Additionally, he criticized Ranveer's nude photoshoot for a magazine, remarking, “If he is comfortable with nudity, he should consider going to countries where he can perform nude scenes in every third scene.”

5) Saif Ali Khan

Mukesh, in the previous year, expressed his disapproval of Saif Ali Khan's efforts to portray Lankesh as a comedic figure in the film Adipurush, which is inspired by the character of Raavan. In a video he released, Mukesh remarked, “I recall when the film was first announced, Saif mentioned his intention to infuse humour into the character. At that time, I responded, ‘Who are you to alter the characters from our epic? Show us your skills within your own faith. You will face dire consequences.’ The reality is that Raavan's appearance did not undergo significant changes, and the filmmakers even attempted to incorporate comedy into his role... Did Om Raut really have no other option than Saif Ali Khan for the role of Raavan? Was there not a more suitable character in the industry? Raavan was formidable, yet this portrayal seems to have been crafted through shortcuts. He resembles a cheap smuggler more than the legendary Raavan.”

6) Kapil Sharma

In August of this year, Mukesh discussed his reasons for labelling comedian Kapil Sharma as ‘uncultured.’ In an interview with Bollywood Thikana, he elaborated on his decision to refrain from appearing on The Kapil Sharma Show in 2020 and expressed his discontent with a particular comedy sketch featuring Shaktimaan.

Mukesh remarked on Kapil, stating, "The individual may possess good qualities, yet one may not feel at ease in his presence. I doubt he is even aware of this, but I had mentioned it to Krushna Abhishek. They used to perform skits on Comedy Circus, and the error Kapil committed was donning Shaktimaan’s costume while a female was present, with a bed depicted nearby. The second incident occurred at an awards ceremony. I was seated in the front row, and Kapil, who was just beginning his career, sat beside me for approximately 10 to 20 minutes without acknowledging me. He simply collected his award and departed."
