Just last month, the charming pair from Lovely Runner, who traveled through time to save one another, took home the Best Couple Award at the 2024 Asia Artist Awards. After their much-anticipated reunion on stage at the event, Byeon Woo Seok's recent comments in an interview have reignited the hopes of K-drama lovers wanting to see them team up again in a new series.

On January 27, Star News Korea asked the burning question that all Lovely Runner fans were dying to know: Would Byeon Woo Seok team up with Kim Hye Yoon for another series? The actor didn’t hold back, saying, “Absolutely, if the chance comes my way!” This sparked excitement for a potential Lovely Runner 2.0. He added, “Hye Yoon is an amazing actress, and I’ve learned so much from her. If we get the chance, I’d love to work with her again in another drama.”

He also reflected on their competition for the Best Couple title, saying, “With so many popular dramas out there, isn’t it tough to snag the 'Best Couple Award'? It felt even more special to win because it showed that people appreciated the chemistry between me and (Kim) Hye Yoon. It really highlighted the effort we put in on set and felt like a recognition of our hard work.”

It was great to catch up with Hye Yoon after such a long time. I felt really good because her positive vibe was still there, Woo Seok shared about reuniting with his charming co-star at the 2024 AAA.

Talking about his professional bond with Kim Hye Yoon, who’s been in the K-drama scene longer than he has, the heartthrob mentioned, "I’ve learned so much from 'Senior' Hye Yoon. I’m really thankful that she took on the role of Sol. It feels like I’ve found a colleague I can confide in about my challenges, so even though it’s just a drama, I feel like I’ve gained something really valuable."

Woo Seok revealed that Hye Yoon is a huge fan of the K-pop group NewJeans. Because of this, the Sky Castle actress found it hard to approach her favorite singers, even though they were in the same venue at the Asia Artist Awards in December 2024.

Fortunately, the Record of Youth star stepped in to help her connect with the girl group. “On set, Hye Yoon would always mention how much she loved NewJeans and even danced to their songs during the fan meeting. But she was such a big fan that she couldn’t bring herself to say anything. NewJeans was right behind us, so I introduced her instead,” he shared.

The standout from Lovely Runner, Ryu Sun Jae, took home six shiny AAA trophies at the 9th edition of the prestigious annual event in Bangkok, Thailand. Along with sharing the Best Couple and Popularity (TV/Film) awards with Kim Hye Yoon, he also won the Asia Celebrity (TV/Film), Best Artist (TV/Film), Best OST, and the Actor of the Year Grand Prize/Daesang.
