Bunny Vas Sets the Record Straight: Allu Arjun's Recent Trip Not for Film Prep
17 days ago | 5 Views
It's been five years since Allu Arjun appeared in a movie outside of Sukumar's Pushpa series. Following the 2021 release of Pushpa: The Rise and the upcoming 2024 film Pushpa 2: The Rule, everyone is curious about what the actor will do next, especially since he hasn't revealed any new projects yet.
There was some speculation about whether he had started on something new when he was seen coming back to Hyderabad after a lengthy trip overseas. Producer Bunny Vas has some insights to share.
Allu Arjun's upcoming project with either Trivikram or Atlee?
Vas had a press conference in Hyderabad on Monday to talk about the Telugu release of Chhaava, featuring Vicky Kaushal. The film was picked up for distribution by Geetha Arts, the company owned by Arjun’s dad, Allu Aravind. During the event, the producer was questioned about who Arjun's next collaborator would be—Atlee or Trivikram Srinivas. There were also inquiries about whether the actor was overseas for his upcoming project.
The producer grinned and mentioned, "His team will announce his next film shortly. However, his recent trip wasn’t related to that project at all. He took some personal time off to train for a month. He’s always looking to keep his acting skills sharp and stay on top of everything that comes with being an actor. He also visited a wellness center during his trip. Yes, he’s back now, but I haven’t had a chance to catch up with him yet."
Vas also mentioned that he was attending the conference on behalf of Aravind since the producer was away at a wellness retreat for his health.
What’s next on Allu Arjun’s agenda
Arjun's last appearance was in the 2018 movie Naa Peru Surya, which flopped both at the box office and with critics. He took some time off to recharge and then teamed up with Trivikram for the 2020 blockbuster Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. While he agreed to work with Sukumar on Pushpa, he also gave the green light to projects with Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Venu Sriram, Koratala Siva, and Trivikram.
His collaboration with Venu was also named Icon, marking his shift from Stylish Star to Icon Star. However, during or after the release of Pushpa, Arjun hasn't confirmed if he’ll proceed with any of these projects. Recently, there’s been talk about a potential film with Atlee, but neither side has confirmed or denied it yet.
