Boney Kapoor, who’s both a filmmaker and actor, reminisced about his time living close to the Kapoor family and his connection with the iconic actor. He also shared a fun story about how he got the nickname 'Cinderella' at Raj Kapoor's home, a name given to him by Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor, and there's a cool reason behind it!

Boney Kapoor shared some fond memories with SCREEN about his time living near the Kapoor family. He mentioned how Raj Kapoor's car would often be parked, ready for him to come back so they could all gather for dinner, which sometimes stretched into the early morning hours. He also talked about how Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor playfully nicknamed him 'Cinderella.' 

Boney recalled when the actor shared his wish to pay tribute to the late Sridevi with an award. He mentioned that the last event Raj Kapoor went to before he passed away was the silver jubilee celebration of Mr. India. Boney was really hoping Raj would hand him the award, but the iconic actor was adamant, saying, “I will give it to her.” He made it a point to have Sridevi at the same table and told Boney that he wanted her to star in the film Ghunghat Ke Pat Khol.

Boney opened up about his close relationship with Raj Kapoor, sharing how they really connected. He reminisced about the moment they watched his debut film, Hum Paanch, together, and Raj said to him, "You’re going to be in charge of the first branch of Kapoors."
