The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has released a closure report in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, which has provided some relief for Rhea Chakraborty, as she has been exonerated from any allegations. In light of this legal development, several Bollywood celebrities, such as Fatima Sana Shaikh and Soni Razdan, have voiced their support for Rhea, questioning who should be held responsible for the challenges and intense scrutiny she endured during this difficult time.

Pooja Bhatt has stepped up as a powerful advocate for Rhea, referencing an old post by Akshay Kumar that stated, “SC directs CBI to investigate Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. May the truth always prevail. Prayers.”

In her post, Pooja shared the old message and added, “The CBI’s closure report from March 22, 2025, confirms that Sushant Singh Rajput’s death was a suicide with no foul play involved, exonerating #RheaChakraborty and others. The truth has come out (folded hand emoji) #Prayers answered.”

Soni Razdan, Alia Bhatt's mom and fellow actor, shared her frustration on social media. On her Instagram Stories, she posted, “They should have made this decision BEFORE putting the poor girl behind bars and attempting to ruin her reputation. This feels like a modern-day witch hunt. The real question is… where's the accountability? Who's going to take responsibility?"

Dangal actress Fatima Sana Shaikh expressed her relief that the case has come to an end. She took to Instagram to highlight how Rhea's reputation was tarnished for the sake of ratings, adding that the CBI should have wrapped up the investigation long ago. Fatima wrote, “Absolutely! I'm so happy this trial is finally over for you, girl.”

Recently, Dia Mirza expressed her thoughts on Instagram, saying, “Which media outlet will have the decency to issue a written apology to Rhea Chakraborty and her family? You conducted a witch hunt that brought them immense pain and distress all for the sake of ratings. An apology is the least you could offer.”

Rhea Chakraborty has been cleared by the CBI

On Saturday, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) released a closure report regarding the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, who was found dead in his Mumbai residence on June 14, 2020. Following his passing, Rhea faced a media frenzy and intense public scrutiny as she was linked to the actor.

Sushant's father filed a complaint against Rhea, accusing her of aiding in his suicide. Both Rhea and her brother Showik were questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) concerning allegations of money laundering.

Once the CBI took over the investigation, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested Rhea and Showik, claiming they provided marijuana to Sushant. However, the Bombay High Court dismissed the NCB's assertion that Rhea funded and supported Sushant's supposed drug use. They were eventually granted bail after a few months. The case was then handed over to the CBI, which has been investigating the circumstances surrounding the actor's death.

Following the clean chit, Rhea's lawyer, Satish Maneshinde, emphasized that his client had no part in Sushant's death. He told the media, "From day one, I've maintained that Rhea Chakraborty had no connection to Sushant Singh Rajput's death. Yet, on July 27, 2020, a complaint was filed against her, which triggered the investigation. After that, we took our case to the Supreme Court."
