Bollywood Stars Summoned: Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, Tiger Shroff Face Legal Action Over Misleading Ad

There's been a lot of noise lately about ads that trick consumers by pretending to be something they're not. One of the biggest culprits has been pan masala ads, which have really stirred up controversy. A bunch of Bollywood stars who have backed these products are now facing some serious heat, both legally and from the public.

In a recent twist, Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Tiger Shroff have found themselves in hot water over a complaint regarding misleading ads for Vimal Pan Masala. This case, filed in Jaipur, claims that the actors and the company behind the product have been misrepresenting what's actually in it.

Legal Complaint Filed in Jaipur

Recently, Akshay Kumar decided to part ways with the Vimal ad campaign and made a public statement about his disassociation from the brand. After he left, Tiger Shroff came on board to join Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgn as the new face of Vimal. However, this new endorsement has landed them in some legal hot water, as the Jaipur District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum has sent a notice to the three actors and the Chairman of JB Industries, the company behind Vimal Gutkha.

A report from LatestLY says that everyone involved—Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, Tiger Shroff, and the Chairman of JB Industries—has been called to show up at the forum on March 19, 2025. The complaint claims that the ad they were in misstates the product's ingredients, which could confuse consumers.

Accusations Regarding the Ad

A complaint has been lodged by Yogendra Singh Badiyal from Jaipur, who asserts that an advertisement misleadingly suggests that the product includes saffron, which is a pricey spice. The ad's tagline, "Daane daane mein hai kesar ka dum" (Each grain has the strength of saffron), is deemed very misleading by Badiyal.

He points out that saffron is priced around INR 4 lakh per kilogram, while the product is being sold for a much lower price, which raises serious questions about the truthfulness of the claim. The complaint also mentions that such misleading advertising tricks consumers into believing false information.

Potential Health Hazards and Moral Issues

The complaint goes beyond just false advertising; it raises serious health issues too. Badiyal claims that both the actors and the manufacturers are promoting a dangerous product, as gutkha—a blend of pan masala and tobacco—is known to be harmful and linked to cancer. He argues that the company is intentionally misleading the public by using celebrity endorsements to boost sales of the product.

With the hearing set for March 19, 2025, everyone will be watching closely to see how this case develops.
