A prayer gathering for the late actor Deb Mukherjee, who was the father of filmmaker Ayan Mukerji, took place in Mumbai yesterday. Many well-known celebrities showed up to pay their respects and offer support, including Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sham Kaushal, Kunal Kapoor, Imtiaz Ali, Babita Kapoor, Anupam Kher, and others. This gathering highlighted the immense admiration and affection the film industry has for the late actor.

Ranbir Kapoor, dressed in white, was seen in a car before asking the paparazzi to step back so he could close his windows. Vicky Kaushal, wearing a casual blue shirt and jeans, greeted the photographers with a gesture of folded hands before entering the prayer meet. Aditya Roy Kapur, in a mix of white and blue attire, also acknowledged the photographers with a nod before heading inside.


Deb Mukherjee passed away on March 14 at the age of 83 after battling a long illness. He was not only celebrated for his acting career but also for his important contributions to the North Bombay Durga Puja, making his loss felt deeply in both the film and cultural spheres. His final rites were conducted at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Juhu, Mumbai. The prayer meet provided a space for friends, family, and colleagues to come together and celebrate his life and legacy.
