Further information has come to light regarding the alarming event involving actor Saif Ali Khan, who was stabbed at his residence during the early hours of Thursday. The actor sustained knife wounds to his neck, close to the spine, as well as in four additional locations after an assailant forcibly entered his home in Bandra at approximately 2:30 am. According to sources, the actor was attempting to defend his domestic staff from the intruder when he was assaulted.

What happened at Saif's house

A detailed account of the events leading to the assault on Saif has been provided by news agency ANI, which reported that "an unidentified individual entered Actor Saif Ali Khan’s home and engaged in a dispute with his maid late last night." According to a source from the Mumbai Police, "When the actor attempted to step in and calm the individual, he was assaulted by the man, resulting in injuries." The police are currently conducting an investigation into the incident.

Sources have informed HT that the actor was unsettled by the disturbance caused by the intruder's argument with his staff and sought to intervene. The assailant subsequently attacked both the actor and his maid with a knife, prompting Saif to protect his staff member while attempting to defend himself. The assailant managed to escape the scene. Authorities have indicated that it remains uncertain whether the actor was intentionally stabbed or if his injuries were sustained during the altercation.

Saif Ali Khan's spouse, actress Kareena Kapoor, along with their two children, Taimur and Jeh, were present in the residence during the incident. Saif's eldest son from his previous marriage, Ibrahim Ali Khan, later arrived at the scene and transported the actor to Lilavati Hospital, where he received surgical treatment.

The team representing Saif Ali Khan issued an official statement regarding the occurrence. "An attempted burglary took place at Mr. Saif Ali Khan’s home. He is presently hospitalized and undergoing surgery. We kindly ask the media and fans for their understanding. This is a matter for the police. We will provide updates as the situation develops," the statement indicated.

Saif Ali Khan's injuries

Saif is presently at Lilavati Hospital, where he is undergoing surgery for his injuries. Dr. Niraj Uttamani, the Chief Operating Officer of Lilavati Hospital, stated, “Saif has sustained six injuries, two of which are more severe. One injury is located near his spine.” The doctor further mentioned that there is also an injury on the neck, which is currently under assessment.

The surgical team consists of Neurosurgeon Nitin Dange, cosmetic surgeon Leena Jain, and anaesthetist Nisha Gandhi. The doctor indicated that the full extent of the injuries will be determined only after the completion of the surgery, which commenced at 5:30 AM.

A physician at Lilavati Hospital, who requested to remain anonymous, informed HT that a piece of a knife was discovered within the body, and the medical team is still evaluating the overall damage. Nevertheless, the actor is reportedly able to move his limbs, suggesting that his spine is intact.

Numerous colleagues of Saif Ali Khan, including Jr NTR, have denounced the attack and expressed their concerns for his well-being. Additionally, political figures have raised issues regarding the law and order situation in Mumbai, highlighting the boldness of the attack.
