On December 11, Johanlal unveiled the Hindi trailer for his directorial debut, Barroz, in Mumbai, with Akshay Kumar serving as the chief guest. The actor confirmed to OTTplay that he would remain in Mumbai for several more days to film his Telugu-Malayalam-Hindi trilingual project, Vrushabha, directed by Kannada filmmaker Nanda Kishore. This film is produced by Ektaa Kapoor’s production company and features Shanaya Kapoor and Roshan Meka in its cast.
The narrative centres on a father-son relationship marked by enmity from their past lives. This action-drama, which unfolds across two timelines, is anticipated to be released in 2025.
Mohanlal’s projects in 2025
Following the completion of Vrushabha’s schedule, Mohanlal is anticipated to commence filming for Sathyan Anthikad’s Hridayapoorvam, which features Aishwarya Lekshmi. This film is expected to be a family drama. The actor's first release in 2025 will be Tharun Moorthy’s Thudarum, where he will reunite with Shobana.
Subsequently, Mohanlal will be involved in the much-anticipated sequel to Lucifer, titled Empuraan, which is scheduled for release on March 27, 2025.
