Bollywood Cash But No Hindi? Pawan Kalyan Sparks Debate, Chiranjeevi Reacts

Janasena Party leader and Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan, expressed his disapproval on Friday towards Tamil Nadu politicians, labeling their stance on the alleged enforcement of Hindi in the state as "hypocritical." He highlighted the contradiction in their opposition to Hindi while simultaneously permitting the dubbing of Tamil films into Hindi for monetary benefits.

Pawan Kalyan calls hypocrisy

Kalyan expressed his confusion regarding the criticism directed at Sanskrit. He questioned the rationale behind Tamil Nadu politicians opposing Hindi while simultaneously permitting their films to be dubbed in Hindi for profit. "They seek financial benefits from Bollywood yet reject Hindi—what sort of reasoning is that?" he remarked during the party's 12th foundation day celebration in Pithampuram, Kakinada.

His remarks were made in the context of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin's accusations against the Union government for imposing Hindi and his refusal to adopt the three-language policy proposed in the National Education Policy (NEP) as a form of protest.

Highlighting the linguistic diversity of India, Kalyan asserted the necessity for a multitude of languages, including Tamil, rather than relying solely on two predominant languages. "India requires a variety of languages, including Tamil, rather than just two. We must celebrate our linguistic diversity—not only to preserve the unity of our nation but also to cultivate love and harmony among its citizens," Kalyan stated.

Chiranjeevi's support for Pawan Kalyan

Superstar Chiranjeevi expressed his support for the speech delivered by his brother, @PawanKalyan. "Dear brother, I was truly captivated by your address at the Jana Sena Jayakethanam Sabha. The immense crowd present at the event mirrored the emotions in my heart, which were profoundly stirred. My belief has deepened that a leader capable of realizing the people's dreams has emerged. I extend my blessings for your journey to remain triumphant and unimpeded, fueled by a commitment to public welfare. Wishing all the Jana Sainiks my heartfelt best!"

What is the Hindi imposition row?

Pawan Kalyan's comments come in response to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin's statements made on March 13, where he characterized the National Education Policy (NEP) as a "saffronized policy" aimed at promoting Hindi rather than fostering the development of India. He expressed concerns that this policy poses a significant threat to the educational framework in Tamil Nadu.

"The National Education Policy is not an education policy; it is a saffronized agenda. This policy was not designed to advance India but rather to promote Hindi. We oppose this policy as it would completely undermine the education system in Tamil Nadu," Stalin stated during an address in Tiruvallur.

Stalin also accused the central government of withholding financial resources to coerce the state into adopting the NEP.

"We are requesting our rightful share of taxes, which we have contributed through our hard work. What is the issue with this? Is it just to threaten us by withholding funds that are essential for the welfare of 4.3 million schools? Because we have not accepted the NEP, they are refusing to release funds that rightfully belong to Tamil Nadu," he remarked.

"We would have supported the initiative if it aimed to include everyone in the educational system. However, does the NEP achieve that? The NEP contains elements that actually exclude individuals from education. This is the nature of the policy, and that is why we are opposing it," he concluded.
