Blake Lively's Lawyer Claims Justin Baldoni Fears Revealing Evidence After Subpoenas
2 months ago | 5 Views
Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni's legal showdown just got a bit more intense this week. Lively's team called out Baldoni, claiming he's "afraid to produce receipts" in their ongoing lawsuit saga. This whole mess kicked off back in December 2024 when Lively accused Baldoni, her It Ends With Us co-star, of sexual assault and trying to tarnish her reputation. Baldoni didn't take it lightly and hit back with a whopping $400 million lawsuit against Lively, ramping up the drama even further.
Lively's lawyer describes Baldoni as 'scared' in a recent letter
A spokesperson for Lively mentioned Baldoni’s other lawyer, Bryan Freedman, hinting that they have evidence to back up claims of Lively being a "bully." They told People, “If they have all this evidence, why are they so scared to show it?” The spokesperson also brought up Lively’s production company, Wayfarer Studios, stating, “Mr. Baldoni and the Wayfarer team have already acknowledged that Ms. Lively raised her concerns several times.”
They went on to say, “They’ve admitted to creating a strategy in case she went public with her complaints, planning to spread stories that would paint Ms. Lively as a ‘bully’ and ‘weaponizing feminism.’ They’ve even claimed they could ‘bury’ anyone,” as reported by DailyMail.
Lively’s spokesperson further added, “They’ve confessed to laughing about how the narrative turned against Ms. Lively and how effective they were at ‘confusing’ the public. They’ve said they ‘started to see a shift on social media, thanks largely to [Jed Wallace, an independent contractor] and his team’s efforts to change the narrative,’ yet they deny putting their plan into action.”
They wrapped up with, “Now they’re trying to block the very evidence that could reveal the truth. If they didn’t do anything wrong, they wouldn’t have anything to hide.”
Baldoni's attorney sends over a fresh letter
Baldoni's lawyer, Mitchell Shuster, filed a letter on Friday where he took a strong stance against the subpoenas from Lively's legal team. He pointed out how excessively broad and invasive these subpoenas are, emphasizing that this is civil litigation, not a criminal case, and that Lively and Reynolds aren't the FBI. He also highlighted that the subpoenas sent to AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon could uncover the entire call and text history of the individuals involved.
These subpoenas have sparked worries about the potential exposure of legally protected information, including sensitive location data and browsing history. Besides Baldoni, others affected include publicists Melissa Nathan and Jennifer Abel, along with Wayfarer executives Steve Sarowitz and Jamey Heath.
Schuster criticized the subpoenas as being “wildly disproportionate to the needs of the case,” adding that they unnecessarily invade the privacy of countless third parties, including family, friends, and business associates of the targets, potentially reaching anyone they've communicated with over the years.
Baldoni’s attorney also described the subpoenas as a “media ploy” and urged the judge to address the issue “as soon as possible.”
