Rapper Naezy (real name: Naved Shaikh) participated in Bigg Boss OTT 3 as a contestant. Much before he did the reality show, Naezy was popular as a rapper (and still is) while he also ruled the Indian rap scene. In 2019, filmmaker Zoya Akhtar made a film called Gully Boy, which was loosely inspired by Naezy's life. On BB OTT 3, the rapper admitted that Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt-starrer caused harm to his personal life. After the reality show's finale, Naezy again revealed how Gully Boy affected it.

Naezy on how Gully Boy affected his personal life

In an interview with The Indian Express, Bigg Boss OTT 3's first runner-up Naezy opened up about the negative impact of Zoya Akhtar's film on his personal life. Although Gully Boy was fictionalised, Naezy revealed that people considered it to be his true life story.

"Initially, I didn’t feel bad, but slowly, when people started to react and developed misunderstandings about my life story, it started to bother me. They should have shown the truth and not fictionalised it, or else they shouldn’t have used my name. The director thought she could fictionalise the film, audience thought that was my true story in all this confusion, I became the scapegoat," he said.

When Naezy imprisoned for a year

Earlier, on Bigg Boss OTT 3, Naezy also opened up about a tough phase of his life where he was imprisoned. The rapper told his co-contestant Ranvir Shorey that he can't divulge much details about the period. However, Naezy stated that he was arrested because of 'false allegations'.

"I was in prison for a year and no one knew. My parents also had no idea. Different rumors were floating, and when I returned, people got very emotional. I was broken," he said. The rapper further mentioned that he is still trying to regain the position he once enjoyed.

Meanwhile, Bigg Boss OTT 3's grand finale was held on August 2, 2024. While Naezy became the first runner-up, his friend Sana Makbul won the reality show.
