Mandana Karimi gained prominence through her participation in Bigg Boss 9, a reality show hosted by Salman Khan. Following her appearance on Bigg Boss, she made her entry into Bollywood with the film Roy, which starred Ranbir Kapoor, in 2015. She has since appeared in several films, including Bhaag Johnny and Kya Kool Hai Hum 3, among others. In a recent interview, Mandana discussed her decision to step away from acting. Her most recent acting endeavour was in the film Thar, released in 2022, as well as her involvement in the reality show Lock Upp.

Mandana Karimi has redirected her career towards academia. The former actress, who pursued studies in interior design, is currently engaged in this profession. Additionally, she serves as a visiting professor at various educational institutions. In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Mandana revealed that she began modelling at a young age to achieve financial independence. Nevertheless, she has expressed a longing for the opportunity to return to her studies.

One of my acquaintances operates an interior design company and inquired if I would be interested in observing their work. Upon delving into the field, I found myself enjoying it, stated Mandana. The former actress also disclosed her reasons for leaving the entertainment industry. "Acting was a profession that I never truly cherished, nor did I have a passion for this industry. I appreciate the experiences I gained during that time, but it was not something I yearned for or felt enthusiastic about," she remarked.

After completing a year-long course in interior design, the actress has refrained from accepting any modelling or acting opportunities. Mandana acknowledged that it is challenging to decline financial offers. Nevertheless, she has friends who are casting directors who reach out to her for auditions. However, she is unable to dedicate a significant amount of time to this pursuit.

Karimi expressed, "At present, I am concentrating on various projects, events, and my academic commitments. I complete my work at the office, return home, and then attend school. My life has undergone significant changes, but I am thoroughly enjoying it."

On the work front, Mandana Karimi did films like Roy, Bhaag Johnny, Main Aur Charles, and Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3 in Bollywood. The actress' last film was Thar, which was released on Netflix. As far as her show Bigg Boss 9 is concerned, the episodes are available for streaming on JioCinema and OTTplay Premium.
