More about Emergency
The release date of Emergency has been rescheduled multiple times. On November 18, Kangana Ranaut utilized her social media platform to unveil a new poster for the film, which showcases her portrayal of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, alongside Vishak Nair as her son, Sanjay Gandhi. The poster also includes Anupam Kher as Jai Prakash Narayan, the leader of the Janata Party, Shreyas Talpade as former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and Milind Soman as Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw.
In her post, the actress known for her role in Queen wrote, "17th January 2025: The epic saga of the nation’s most powerful woman and the moment that altered India’s destiny. #Emergency – Unveils Only in Cinemas on 17.01.2025!”
In a recent discussion regarding the postponement of her film's release date, Kangana expressed to ANI, “I am fully aware of the effort that went into creating this film. I did not receive any assistance from the film industry. The production involved a substantial budget. Together with Zee and other collaborators, I brought Emergency to life, and now, due to the delay in its release, all parties involved are incurring significant losses. This postponement is detrimental to everyone. I believe the Censor Board should prioritize the timely release of this film.”
Additionally, the film, which is both directed and written by Ranaut, is produced by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films. Emergency is set to be available for streaming on Netflix following its theatrical release.
