Bianca Censori's Grammy Outfit Sparks Controversy

Bianca Censori, the spouse of Kanye West, is reportedly not facing legal action regarding her startlingly nude display at the Grammys.

The 30-year-old Australian model and her 47-year-old husband, known for his controversial persona, attended the event at the Crypto.com stadium in Los Angeles, both dressed in all black. During a photo opportunity, Censori removed her black feather coat, revealing a revealing minidress, which ignited significant controversy, with some individuals even advocating for her arrest.

Here's why Bianca Censori could escape from lawsuit

TMZ reports that sources from the LAPD have indicated that the stunt will not result in any legal consequences, as the Grammy Awards are classified as a private event and no complaints have been lodged with the police by anyone associated with the ceremony.

California attorney Andrea Oguntula elaborated on the legal implications in a statement to Page Six, noting, “Although Ms. Censori’s attire certainly challenged conventional norms, a charge of indecent exposure in California necessitates intentional public display of one’s genitals with the explicit aim to offend or sexually provoke.”

“It is theoretically possible, but it is improbable that she will encounter any criminal charges related to this incident.”

There exists a potential that Censori's outfit may have breached broadcast dress codes. As outlined in a “Standard and Practice Wardrobe Advisory” implemented by CBS, the display of “breasts, buttocks [and] genitals” is forbidden during the Grammy Awards, according to a 2013 report by Deadline. The advisory further specified that “buttocks and female breasts” must be “adequately covered” prior to being aired.

Does the First Amendment protect obscene content?

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC), responsible for establishing regulations governing television transmissions in the United States, asserts that pornographic content is "prohibited on cable, satellite, and broadcast television and radio" and does not receive protection under the First Amendment. Consequently, these regulations prevent CBS and other networks from airing the stunt during the red carpet segments of the Grammys.

Initial reports indicated that Kanye West and Censori were removed from the Grammys; however, it was later clarified that they merely walked the red carpet before leaving the event.
