Bhumi Pednekar is thrilled to explore the realm of comedy in her upcoming film, Mere Husband Ki Biwi, a genre she believes was more prominent in Hindi cinema during the 1990s. This romantic comedy features Arjun Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh, and other talented actors who embrace the quirks of love. The film is directed by Mudassar Aziz, known for his successful works such as Happy Bhag Jayegi, Pati Patni Aur Woh, and Khel Khel Mein.

She feels fortunate to have the opportunity to showcase humor in both Pati Patni Aur Woh and Mere Husband Ki Biwi, both directed by Aziz. She noted that comedies often lack female representation, making this her preferred genre. In this film, the two female leads take center stage in the comedic scenes, reminiscent of the leading roles in popular 90s series. Consequently, they have embraced a similar style.

When questioned about potential fears and ego clashes among female actors, Pednekar and Singh affirmed their genuine friendship, dismissing such notions.

She suggested that the narrative of insecurity among female leads likely stems from less confident men, emphasizing that it is unfounded. The filming process was enjoyable, and there were no issues between them.

Despite their close relationship, Aziz advised them to maintain some distance to convincingly depict their antagonistic roles on screen, as he worried their friendship might overshadow their performances.

On February 21, audiences will be introduced to Mere Husband Ki Biwi, a film produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, and Deepshikha Deshmukh under the banner of Pooja Entertainment.
