Ami Je Tomar 3.0, the dance face-off between Madhuri Dixit and Vidya Balan from Anees Bazmee's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, won hearts and created storms on social media with their magical steps along with the surreal voice of Shreya Ghoshal. The dance is choreographed by Chinni Prakash. In a new interview, the choreographer explained why he planned two dance forms and made Vidya and Madhuri do the dance face-off.

Chinni Prakash talks about Ami Je Tomar 3.0

Chinni Prakash had previously, also choreographed the three versions of Ami Je Tomar in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (2022), directed by Anees Bazmee. The first one was with Tabu, the second was Kartik Aaryan's classical performance after which Anjulika and Manjulika were distinguished, and the third, was Kiara Advani's possessed version.

In an interview with Zoom, Chinni who choreographed Ami Je Tomar 3.0 in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, said that Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit coming on board was a big and unique thing and it was the film's USP. "I told Anees bhai it would be difficult and if we could think of any other way. He refused and said it has to be a face-off only," Prakash said.

Prakash, who has been part of the film fraternity for six decades, said that Madhuri was a trained classical dancer, and Vidya had "never taken dance seriously", so he had to make sure that Madhuri doesn't empower Vidya.

He also added that facing dance means giving equal footage to both in terms of dance moves, screen time, and performance.

"Both the credit and bashing comes to the choreographer. I thought keeping one form of classical dance would be risky, so I planned of two forms. Also if both did different forms, there won't be comparisons of who did better," Prakash explained.

The choreographer also said that many were aiming to get selected as its dance director. However, director Anees Bazmee trusted him.

"It was a once-in-a-lifetime song. So many choreographers also wanted to do it. I'm glad Anees bhai trusted me," Prakash said.
