Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane's film Sanam Teri Kasam, originally released in 2016, was reintroduced to theaters in February 2025. Despite its poor performance at the box office during its first run, the film has garnered significant affection and is thriving in 2025, having already surpassed its original lifetime earnings. In a recent interview, director Vinay Sapru, part of the directing duo Vinay Sapru-Radhika Rao, expressed his appreciation for Salman Khan's support during a challenging period of the film's initial release.

In addition to Salman Khan, several other actors also lent their support to the film in 2016.

In a recent interview with DNA, Vinay Sapru discussed the box office disappointment of Sanam Teri Kasam following its release in 2016. He expressed that the team dedicated significant effort and passion to the film, believing strongly in its quality. However, he noted that the studio failed to adequately promote it. Despite having appealing music, there was a lack of awareness among the audience regarding the film's release date.

The situation changed with the involvement of Salman Khan. The director shared that when one studio withdrew its support, Bhaijaan came forward to assist.

He recounted, “I encountered Salman and informed him about the release of my film. He inquired, ‘When is it set to release?’ To my surprise, I responded, ‘In four days.’ He appeared taken aback and questioned, ‘Your film lacks any buzz, and you are going ahead with the release? Why didn’t you consider promoting it on Bigg Boss?’ I then conveyed our challenges to him, and after listening attentively, he promptly asked, ‘How can I assist you, Vinay ji?’ We requested him to share our trailer on Twitter, and he obliged without any hesitation. This exemplifies what friendship means to him. I am truly thankful for his support during such a difficult time.”

More actors who supported Sanam Teri Kasam in 2016

Numerous actors, including Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Rishi Kapoor, Anupam Kher, and singer Mika Singh, alongside Salman Khan, demonstrated their support for the film Sanam Teri Kasam. They conveyed their endorsement by sharing the film's trailer.

For the unversed, the film is produced by Deepak Mukut and Kaleem Khan is the assistant producer. 

Sanam Teri Kasam 2 on the cards?

In a recent interview with India Forums, directors Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru of Sanam Teri Kasam disclosed that the script for Sanam Teri Kasam 2 has been completed, as it was originally conceived in two segments. They expressed confidence regarding the direction of Inder's character, portrayed by Harshvardhan Rane.

They noted, "This is why, at the conclusion, he approaches that tree, and Suru's voice resonates with her dialogues, setting the stage for part 2."
