Rahul Bose was not given a chair to sit on during his debut film as the lead actor

Rahul Bose had just come to the world of cinema, straight from theatre, and was working on a movie with only him as the lead. The film did not have any female lead. The actor recalled during an interview with Lallantop how he was not given a chair to sit on. "Sometimes I would sit on a road divider or a parapet, as if it was no problem," he said, further pointing out where the trouble lay. The director and producer's relatives, including his sister and uncle, all got a chair to sit on, except the lead actor of the film.

Rahul Bose decided to bring his own chair to sets

After experiencing life on sets without an opportunity to sit on a chair, Rahul decided to bring his own chair to the sets. He visited a restaurant and bought a fancy version of a chair, which cost him Rs. 10,000 nearly 30 years back.

Rahul Bose continues the tradition

Owing to the trauma from those days, Rahul has continued bringing his own chair to the sets. "I never want to go through that humiliation again," he said.

Rahul Bose has numerous well-known projects to his credit, both in the commercial and art cinema. The actor will now be seen in Berlin, which also stars Kabir Bedi. The movie will be available for streaming on Zee5 via OTTplay Premium from September 12.
