Ben Affleck is going through a rough divorce from Jennifer Lopez, and it seems like the stress is affecting his health. A recent report says he's been chain-smoking again. In an effort to kick the habit for good, Ben is looking into hypnotherapy for help.

The Batman actor had actually quit smoking back in 2005 thanks to a hypnotist, a suggestion from his buddy Matt Damon. He even mentioned in a 2008 TV interview that he noticed a "huge difference" in how he felt after giving it up.

Ben is ready to throw down

By 2016, Ben was back to smoking, according to RadarOnline.com. Things have reportedly gotten worse, especially after his brief marriage to Jennifer Lopez. He was even spotted chain-smoking in his car right after JLo filed for divorce last August.

A source shared, “Ben was thrilled when he quit smoking 20 years ago. He promised himself he’d never go back, but now he’s as hooked as ever and really wants to quit. He hates the smell and knows it’s bad for his health, plus it sets a poor example for his kids.”

The insider continued, “Smoking is pretty much his only vice left, so people are hesitant to push him too hard to quit since he’s been doing great with sobriety. But it’s definitely not a healthy habit. Whenever he feels stressed, he grabs a cigarette, and he’s been stressed a lot lately. He’s mentioned wanting to try hypnosis again and has told everyone he plans to start on January 1. He even scheduled his first session and is telling everyone he wants to kick off 2025 without smoking.”

About the divorce

After being married for two years, Jennifer and Ben decided to get a divorce in August of last year. This followed months of speculation about their relationship. Back in June, they even listed their Beverly Hills home for sale. Currently, they’re both looking for ways to move forward, and Ben has reached out to his ex-wife Jennifer Garner for some support.
