Ben Affleck was seen having a chill afternoon with his 16-year-old son, Fin, in Los Angeles this past Friday. This outing came just a few days after his home dodged the recent wildfires in the area. The 52-year-old actor, who has two other kids—Violet, 19, and Samuel, 12—with ex-wife Jennifer Garner—seemed to be enjoying some quality time with Fin.
Affleck seems a bit low-key while hanging out with his son
Fin, who goes by they/them pronouns, seemed to be in a great mood while walking down a sunny sidewalk, whereas Affleck appeared a bit more reserved and maintained a calm vibe. He was bundled up in layers, sporting a white shirt under a button-down knit cardigan, topped off with a fleece-trimmed jacket. His outfit was completed with khaki pants and low-top boots, and he had sunglasses hanging from his shirt, as noted by Daily Mail.
Affleck was seen out and about just a day after he found a military Hummer parked outside his home, which was followed by a visit from the police and the FBI. Despite the military presence, including some National Guard members, the actor seemed unfazed.
What was the military doing close to Affleck’s place?
Investigators are currently searching for any security footage that might show if a drone was launched from the area, which could be linked to damage done to an aircraft involved in firefighting efforts during last week's Palisades fire. Although an Oscar-winning actor was spotted chatting with police a few days back, he didn't have any direct contact with the soldiers stationed near his home.
In other news, KTLA reported that Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff, who have a property nearby, had the police called to their neighborhood early Sunday morning due to a potential burglary. Two people were taken into custody for violating curfew but were released shortly after, according to the Daily Mail.
As the fires keep burning, the Palisades fire is now 31% contained, while the Eaton fire is at 65% containment. Thankfully, the strong winds that initially fueled the flames are starting to die down, but the death toll has reached 27, as reported by CBS.
Harris, who will be leaving office on January 20, has chosen to make their California home their base moving forward, as noted by Page Six.
