Ben Affleck's quest for privacy appears to overshadow even his status as a movie star. The Oscar-winning actor is reportedly preparing to relocate to a new opulent mansion in Los Angeles, which he is believed to have acquired last year. Although his current residence in Brentwood has withstood the challenges posed by the LA wildfires, it seems that the Batman star's time in that secure home is coming to an end.

As reported by TMZ, this "super high-end" property has been on Affleck's radar for some time. Its characterization as "massively private" appears to have been a decisive factor for the actor, particularly given that the location is said to be virtually undetectable from the street. In contrast, his current home has frequently been a target for paparazzi.

Recent police activity around Ben Affleck's Brentwood mansion

Affleck's $20.5 million estate in Brentwood, which withstood the catastrophic wildfires in California, has recently attracted significant attention from law enforcement. 

An unauthorized drone collided with a firefighting aircraft that was engaged in combating the extensive Palisades Fire in the vicinity. Fortunately, the aircraft managed to avert a disastrous situation and landed without incident, although the drone did inflict damage by creating a hole in the left wing of the super scooper.

As a result, federal agents visited Ben Affleck's residence to assist with the investigation. The increased police presence, which also included the National Guard and LAPD, was directly related to the wildfires and not to the actor himself.

Nevertheless, these law enforcement activities have inadvertently brought heightened scrutiny to Affleck's Brentwood property, prompting him to consider relocating to a more secluded area for greater tranquillity.

Ben Affleck can't move out of his Brentwood just yet

The star of The Accountant is unlikely to see his desire fulfilled in the near future. According to recent reports, the new mansion in Los Angeles remains under construction, which is causing a delay in his plans to move.

In the meantime, Ben Affleck's previous marital residence with Jennifer Lopez continues to remain unsold, with no prospective buyers appearing to alleviate them from the burdensome property, which is listed at an impressive $61 million.

The real estate saga involving Bennifer continues to attract media attention. Just under two weeks ago, it was reported that Affleck's ex-wife, Jennifer Lopez, is considering purchasing a new home in his neighborhood, in a separate development unrelated to Ben's potential relocation.
