Ben Affleck is familiar with the spotlight, and now the Deepwater star revealed that Jennifer Lopez “drove him crazy. ” Despite their storybook beginnings, the couple's affectionate phase came to an end in divorce in 2024 after only two years.

While promoting his forthcoming film The Accountant 2 on MSNBC's Morning Joe, Affleck remarked, “The people you love the most drive you the most crazy,” referencing his character’s dynamic with costar Jon Bernthal. Many interpreted this as a discreet reference to Lopez.

The pair attempted a rekindled romance after their engagement in the early 2000s cooled down and began to exhibit signs of tension during the shooting of Lopez’s heartfelt project, This Is Me. . . Now: A Love Story.

In the documentary The Greatest Love Story Never Told, Lopez becomes emotional over her heavy workload, expressing that she felt guilty for having missed a scheduled event with Affleck, according to Daily Mail’s report.

Affleck praised Lopez as ‘spectacular’

Still, just last week, Affleck referred to her as “spectacular”, according to Entertainment Tonight. “To clarify, Jennifer Lopez is spectacular, wonderful to my kids, and has a great ongoing relationship with them,” he stated.

“She’s an incredibly significant, remarkable individual with a lot of integrity whom I cherish and feel thankful for. ”

Daily Mail additionally reported that Luciana Barroso, the spouse of Affleck’s close friend Matt Damon, has been encouraging him to get back into the dating world. “Ben’s been on a few discreet dates, but so far he hasn’t found any magic,” an observer shared with the outlet.

However, Affleck, who has faced challenges with alcohol addiction and has gone through numerous rehabilitation programs. “His recovery group is urging him to pursue a relationship with a woman from the recovery community. Ben being involved with a woman who drinks is not helpful for his sobriety,” another source informed Radar Online.

The father of three mentioned in the same interview, “I’m truly a happy person. ”
