The highly awaited release of Bazooka, featuring Mammootty, is approaching, with its premiere scheduled for April 10, 2025. Directed by Deeno Dennis, this Malayalam film is being described as a game thriller. Sidharth Bharathan, who plays a significant role in Bazooka, has remarked that the film presents an exciting cat-and-mouse dynamic without resorting to graphic violence or the victimization of women. Sidharth on Mammootty’s Bazooka 

Bazooka features Mammootty alongside Gautham Vasudev Menon in a significant role and is said to revolve around a police officer who collaborates with a mysterious individual to apprehend a dangerous criminal. In a recent interview, Sidharth Bharathan, one of the actors in Bazooka, elaborated on the film's genre, stating that it is an action-oriented thriller, while emphasizing that it deviates from the norm of depicting excessive violence.

“It can be described as an action-oriented thriller. It resembles a cat-and-mouse chase... and notably, no one is killed. It’s a thriller that avoids violence against pregnant women,” remarked the Malayalam actor, who has also directed films.

Sidharth remarked during a promotional interview with One 2 Talks, "It is a very fast-paced thriller that revolves around the question of whether this individual will be apprehended." 

His comments come at a time when the depiction of extreme violence in films is a hot topic of discussion within Kerala society. Unni Mukundan's film, Marco, which has been labeled the most violent Malayalam film, controversially includes scenes of violence against pregnant women and young children, presented in graphic detail. In contrast, Sidharth has assured that while Mammootty's film is indeed a thriller, it deliberately avoids showcasing such brutal violence on screen.

Significantly, Bazooka represents Sidharth's subsequent partnership with Mammootty following their successful project, Bramayugam, released last year. Bramayugam is available for viewing on SonyLiv and OTTplay Premium in various languages.

In the meantime, Bazooka is set to premiere in theaters next Thursday as a Vishu release, coinciding with the releases of Basil Joseph’s Maranamass and Alappuzha Gymkhana, featuring Naslen alongside Lukman Avaran and Ganapathi S. Poduval.
