Alexandra Paul, known for her role in 'Baywatch,' has disclosed her 13-year experience with a German stalker who allegedly "ran her off the road" and asserted that he was her "secret lover." The 61-year-old television actress shared details of her "nightmare" in an op-ed featured in The Ankler.
When did the ordeal begin?
Paul disclosed that an unidentified stalker and her brother came to her residence in Pacific Palisades in December 2011. They informed her that they resided three hours away and requested permission for the boy to use her bathroom. Paul granted them entry. While the boy was in the bathroom, Paul took the opportunity to introduce the woman to her husband, Ian Murray. Upon their departure, the woman left a thank-you note on Paul’s door and inquired if the boy could return later to present her with a drawing.
However, the situation escalated. A few months later, the stalker relocated to a house just a block away from Paul. This was followed by a series of alarming incidents that led Paul to obtain her first restraining order. Unfortunately, the woman continued to violate the order nearly 30 times.
During one of these incidents, the woman “ran her off the road in her car.”
"I was terrified to see her speeding up behind me at 90 miles per hour, attempting to catch up. Then she swerved past me and continued on. I was completely shaken, and if anyone felt threatened by being run off the road, it certainly wasn’t her," Paul recounted.
Subsequently, the woman began distributing posters throughout their neighborhood, accusing the actress of being “antisemitic” and a “criminal.”
Additionally, she sent Paul’s mother a “deranged, nine-page letter” in which she claimed to be her daughter’s “secret lover in need of rescue from (her) violent, unfaithful husband.”
Stalker arrested -
The woman, who was reportedly residing in the United States without legal status, was apprehended after several years and subsequently deported to her home country of Germany.
Despite her deportation, she persisted in her harassment of Paul and her husband while they were abroad. Two years later, she returned to the United States and accused Paul's husband of being a pedophile.
Throughout the year, Paul and the stalker found themselves in court multiple times due to the numerous restraining orders she had filed against them.
“This experience was not only frustrating, time-consuming, and costly,” she recounted. “It was genuinely unsettling. I could predict what the stalker would wear each time, as it mirrored my own attire from the previous hearings.”
In 2022, Paul and her husband decided to sell their home, obtain special new identification to safeguard their identities, and rent a property through a limited liability company. Nevertheless, the woman was able to locate them.
Nine months later, the FBI took the woman into custody. In 2023, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. The Los Angeles prosecutor’s office informed Paul and her husband of the diagnosis and inquired if the woman could spend her final days at home. They consented. She passed away on July 29, 2024, at the age of 41.
The entire situation incurred legal expenses amounting to $60,000 for Paul.
