Baldoni's Legal Strategy: Exposing Perceived Immunity in Response to Lively's Harassment Claims
9 days ago | 5 Views
Justin Baldoni, via his legal representatives, is in the process of initiating a lawsuit against Blake Lively, asserting that her allegations of sexual harassment are untrue and constitute a component of a broader, coordinated smear campaign. Baldoni's lawyer, Bryan Freedman, emphasizes that this legal move is not simply a counterclaim but a pursuit of the "truth" aimed at revealing individuals who consider themselves immune to scrutiny, especially in light of false allegations.
Justin Baldoni to file a counter-lawsuit
Justin Baldoni, the director of It Ends with Us and co-star alongside Blake Lively, who faced allegations of sexual harassment last week, is reportedly preparing to initiate a countersuit against Lively. As reported by The Daily Mail, Baldoni intends to file legal documents following the New Year.
His attorney, Bryan Freedman, informed PEOPLE that the forthcoming lawsuit will “shock everyone” and will unveil the truth behind what he describes as a “demonstrably false narrative,” which he claims was “intentionally engineered by a trusted media outlet that relied on dubious sources and neglected a comprehensive fact-checking process to verify the authenticity of these texts.”
Freedman emphasized that the countersuit will be substantiated by concrete evidence, “exposing unethical conduct driven by media manipulation.” He drew parallels between this situation and the controversies surrounding NBC and notable figures such as Megyn Kelly and Gabrielle Union, asserting that this case highlights a broader issue of reputations being tarnished in Hollywood due to media and public manipulation.
Additionally, Freedman criticized the New York Times article published on December 21, accusing the publication of utilizing altered texts and failing to verify their sources adequately.
Exposing unethical behaviour
Baldoni has refuted all allegations made against him, which include charges of sexual harassment and orchestrating a smear campaign. This development follows a show of support from Hollywood for the Gossip Girl star, who recently submitted an eight-page complaint. In this document, she detailed incidents in which the director and a producer of the film “entered her van while she was naked or breastfeeding her child,” “displayed pornographic material on a phone,” “discussed her personal life,” “created a hostile work environment,” and “induced intimate scenes without her consent,” among other claims.
Baldoni’s attorney has vehemently criticized the alleged unethical conduct surrounding Blake Lively’s lawsuit. He remarked that in his three decades of legal practice, he has never encountered such a distortion of the truth.
“This is not an isolated incident; it reflects a persistent trend in Hollywood and mainstream media where careers and reputations are obliterated to maintain control,” Freedman asserted. He emphasized that traditional media has historically manipulated their platforms to misrepresent facts, exploit weaknesses, and devastate lives without facing repercussions.
Freedman pledged that Baldoni’s forthcoming lawsuit would directly challenge this cycle of fear and destruction, “ensuring that no individual or organization, regardless of their influence, can continue to perpetuate this cycle of fear and destruction.”
“The truth will not only emerge but will also dismantle the false narratives upheld by those who consider themselves invulnerable,” Freedman concluded.
