Justin Baldoni is reportedly utilizing a text message from Isabela Ferrer, his co-star in It Ends With Us alongside Blake Lively, to counter the harassment allegations made by Blake in court. According to InTouch Weekly, Baldoni has presented this text as evidence to support his claim that Blake influenced the cast against him and that his behaviour on set was not as egregious as she has asserted.
In January, Blake Lively filed a lawsuit against Justin Baldoni, who directed and starred in It Ends With Us, alleging sexual harassment. Subsequently, Baldoni initiated a countersuit against Blake and her spouse, actor Ryan Reynolds, accusing them of civil extortion and defamation. In the revised lawsuit, Baldoni included a text message from Isabela Ferrer, which she sent to him in July 2023, following the conclusion of her filming.

The text submitted by Justin Baldoni
InTouch obtained the purported text from the United States District Court in New York, where Baldoni initiated the lawsuit. The message, reportedly sent on July 11, 2023, states: "Hey!! I just received my film developed from our shooting, and here’s this lovely picture! I must express my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible experience during my first film. I am still overwhelmed by it all, as it was truly transformative for me. You are an exceptional, intelligent, and genuine director who fostered a comfortable and safe environment, allowing me to fully embrace this role. I could not have wished for a more inviting atmosphere. This experience will remain with me for a lifetime!! Looking forward to seeing you soon, whether in the fall or later, and I hope you are doing well :) X."
In his reply, Baldoni remarked: “Working with you was an absolute joy and a true pleasure. Your openness, innate talent, kindness, and enthusiasm reignited my passion for directing. A bright future awaits you!”
In his filing, Baldoni asserts that the text serves as proof that the cast and crew appreciated him and viewed him as a positive influence. He contends that it was only after Blake assumed control of the film during post-production that she turned the cast against him. Isabela has not publicly commented on the legal dispute between Blake and Justin.
The controversy surrounding It Ends With Us
In his lawsuit, Justin Baldoni claims that Blake took charge of the film during post-production and marginalized him. He was excluded from the promotional posters. Both Blake and Ryan unfollowed him on social media, and subsequently, the remainder of the cast followed suit. Colleen Hoover, the author of the book upon which the film is based, also distanced herself from him. Baldoni alleges that Blake left a ‘trail of breadcrumbs’ to create the impression that he had wronged her in some manner, leading others to ostracize him.
