Chris Martin really knows how to capture the hearts of fans in India. During the first night of Coldplay's Music of the Spheres World tour in India, he showed off his impressive Hindi skills on stage. This concert kicks off a series of three consecutive shows happening from Saturday to Monday at Mumbai's DY Patil Stadium.

'Bahut swagat hai!'

In a clip that went viral, Chris is shown chatting in Hindi with an amazed crowd. He greeted them with, “Good evening everybody. Aap sabka bohot swagat hai. Mumbai mein aakar humein bohot Khushi ho rahi hai (Welcome everyone. We are very happy to be in Mumbai)." He continued, “We are so happy to be here. This is our first real show in India. So thank you. Namaste." The audience erupted in cheers when they heard him speaking their language.

Fans on social media were all about the gesture. One person commented, “He sounds like my chatgpt at 2am.” Another added, “Seeing you in Mumbai is bringing us so much joy!”

Let's talk about the concerts

Coldplay is gearing up to wow fans in Mumbai with their concert as part of the Music of the Spheres tour. They'll be rocking the DY Patil Sports Stadium for three nights: January 18, January 19, and January 21.

Before the main event, concert-goers can catch live sets from Shone, Elyanna, and Jasleen Royal.

But that’s not all for Coldplay’s Indian tour, organized by BookMyShow Live. They’ll also hit the stage at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium on January 25 and January 26.

After wrapping up in India, the band will head to Hong Kong for their tour in April, and they'll also make a stop in South Korea that same month.

The British rock band features vocalist and pianist Chris Martin, guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman, drummer Will Champion, and manager Phil Harvey.
