In April 2024, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan was released in theatres and was a box office dud. The film, starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, is currently making headlines for all the wrong reasons. Now, Ronit Roy, who was seen playing the role of Colonel Adil Shekhar Azad in the film, recently shared his experience of working with Pooja Entertainment's Vashu Bhagnani, calling it 'painful'.
Ronit Roy says he will never work with Vashu Bhagnani in the future
In an interview with Zoom, Ronit Roy said that he was lucky as he received part of his fees for his work in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. He further explained that the payment, which was technically supposed to be paid by producer Vashu Bhagnani was delayed and was only processed when Himanshu Mehra, who works with the director of the film, Ali Abbas Zafar, intervened.
He said, "And when it came to the dues of my staff and my security company that guarded the sets in Mumbai, it was all very much delayed and we got that also due to Himanshu Mehra." He also revealed that his staff was paid off from the Dubai subsidy after Himanshu's interference. "Himanshu and Zafar are now only going all out to see that maximum payments are done in minimum time," he added.
Vashu Bhagnani, on the other hand, recently filed a police complaint against the director of BMCM, Ali Abbas Zafar stating that he hijacked the film's production. Talking about the same, Ronit said, "Vashu was on the set every day. He is a veteran. It is difficult to believe how he did not realise that on the set." The complaint was filed at Bandra Police Station on September 2, 2024.
Bade Miyan Chote Miyan was released in April of this year and was made on a budget of ₹350 crore and was one of India's most expensive films. The film, starring Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Sonakshi Sinha, Manushi Chillar, Alaya F, and Prithviraj Sukumaran, was a box office flop upon its theatrical release.
