Ayushmann Khurrana opens up about his 'childhood trauma'; calls his late father 'dictator'

Ayushmann Khurrana recently got candid about his candid about childhood and teenage days. The Bollywood actor, who is a father to two kids, recalled that his late dad P Khurana was strict. Ayushmann also mentioned how different he is as a dad compared to his late father. For the uninitiated, P Khurana passed away last year (2023). He was a well-known astrologer. On Honestly Saying Podcast, Ayushman also recalled his 'childhood trauma'.

On the podcast, Ayushmann Khurrana spoke about being a father. The actor recalled he became a dad in his 20s. The actor mentioned that being blessed with a daughter makes one become a better person. "Daughters teach you to be more empathetic," he said. Ayushmann and his wife Tahira Kashyap are blessed with a son Virajveer and a daughter Varushka.
When asked if he is a different father compared to his own, Ayushmann added, "I’m a completely different father. Mine was a dictator. Getting beaten with chappals, belts, etc… were par for the course, and of course, there was childhood trauma.... One day I was returning from a party, and my shirt smelled of cigarette smoke. Now, I never touched it (cigarette) because of the fear of my father. But I still got beaten up for it."
Talking about Ayushmann and Tahira, the duo got married in 2008. They were blessed with a son Virajveer in 2012 and a daughter Varushka in 2014.

On the work front, Ayushmann has come on board for Maddock Films' vampire-comedy film, Thama. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, the film also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Paresh Rawal, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. It is being written by Niren Bhatt, Arun Fulara, and Suresh Mathew. This film is a part of Maddock's horror comedy universe which includes Stree, Stree 2, Munjya, and Bhediya.
Khurrana was last seen in Dream Girl 2 with Ananya Panday. The film had a theatrical release in 2023.
