Actor Ayesha Takia, renowned for her performance in Salman Khan's film Wanted, expressed her thoughts following the booking of her husband, Farhan Azmi, by the Goa police. On Tuesday, the Goa police initiated a case against Farhan Azmi along with two local residents. Farhan, who was operating a luxury SUV, encountered some locals in the Candolim area, leading to a confrontation over a minor dispute. He subsequently contacted the police and reportedly advised the locals to retreat, cautioning them that he possessed a licensed firearm for his protection.
Ayesha Takia claims her husband was bullied
Ayesha has recently turned to Instagram to express her concerns regarding the bullying her husband and son experienced in Goa, which has left them traumatized. She stated, “Our family endured a night of terror that continued into this morning... I just came across this post and feel compelled to share. More details will follow in due course... My husband and son were subjected to severe bullying and were in fear for their lives as local individuals surrounded, threatened, and harassed them for hours... They even assaulted the police, whom my husband had summoned for their protection.”Ayesha alleges hatred for Maharashtra in Goa
She also mentioned that her husband and son were subjected to continuous verbal abuse, stating, “The animosity towards Maharashtra has escalated to astonishing levels in Goa... as they incessantly berated Farhan and my son for their Maharashtra origins and for driving a large vehicle. In an ironic twist, the police have lodged a complaint against Farhan, despite the fact that he was the one who called for assistance by dialing 100 in response to a large crowd of nearly 150 individuals.”She articulated her confidence in the nation's judicial system, stating, "We possess video evidence and documentation, including CCTV recordings, which will be submitted to the appropriate authorities in due time. We are collaborating with law enforcement agencies, and we have faith in the integrity of the system and our Indian courts."
According to PTI, law enforcement has reported that a case has been filed against Abu Farhan Azmi, Zeon Fernandes, Joseph Fernandes, Sham, and others under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The police statement indicated, "Given that the individuals involved were engaged in a public altercation, disrupting public order and causing a disturbance, a complaint initiated by the state was lodged by PSI Paresh Sinari of the Calangute police station."
