Ayesha Jhulka and Divya Bharti's bond
Reflecting on her relationship with Divya, Ayesha remarked, "While we were filming Rang, an incident occurred that highlighted our closeness. During the dubbing for that movie—where she portrayed my sister—we developed a strong bond. Even on other film sets, she would often come to spend time with me. She would bring the same shoes she had chosen for me, and while I was filming one of the songs, she noticed I wasn't wearing a bindi. She promptly went to her room and retrieved one for me."
Ayesha Jhulka and Divya Bharti appeared together in the 1993 romantic film Rang, which also starred Kamal Sadanah, Jeetendra, Amrita Singh, Kader Khan, and Bindu in significant roles. In the film, Ayesha and Divya played sisters, but tragically, Divya passed away prior to its release.
Ayesha felt the presence of Divya's spirit at Rang screening
She remembered how she struggled to sleep for an extended period after sensing Divya's presence during the film screening. "We shared a wonderful connection, and while I was dubbing for that film, I found it impossible to record that particular scene. I was overwhelmed with emotion, crying and howling, which led to a delay in the dubbing process. Following that, we had an outdoor preview at Film City. As soon as Divya appeared on the screen, the screen collapsed, and I instantly felt her presence... but I was unable to sleep for a long time afterward. It deeply affected me."
