Imran Khan's ex-wife, Avantika Malik, has openly discussed the tough period when they were contemplating divorce. The couple tied the knot in 2011 but separated in 2019. In a recent chat with Janice Sequiera on her YouTube channel, Avantika revealed that she thought she would 'die' if her marriage ended.

What Avantika talked about

During the conversation, Avantika shared, “It’s really just two people drifting apart; it’s not the end of the world. I used to think that if my marriage fell apart, I wouldn’t be able to handle it. I felt like I couldn’t survive a single day without him. It was all due to my fears and a complete lack of self-confidence, but I was convinced I would be lost. When we finally decided to end things, I remember crying as if I had just lost a family member. To me, it felt like the end. I thought there was no way I could move forward or have a life again. I was terrified, especially since I wasn’t working at the time. I know I come from a place of privilege, and I realized I wouldn’t be left completely stranded.”

I sensed that I had let everyone down

She went on to express how the divorce left her feeling guilty, as if she had let down those closest to her. “This once-golden couple fell from grace. They were so in love, always together and seemingly happy, yet they decided to call it quits. I felt like I had disappointed everyone in my life. It was incredibly tough, and it took me a long time to let go of that sense of responsibility and disappointment,” she shared.

Imran Khan and Avantika Malik were sweethearts since childhood and had a long relationship before tying the knot. Their daughter, Imara Malik Khan, was born on June 9, 2014.

Currently, Imran is in a relationship with Lekha Washington. The two reportedly moved in the same social circles and began dating in 2020.
