Actor Atul Kulkarni journeyed to Pahalgam shortly after a terrorist incident. In a conversation with BBC News Hindi while en route to Pahalgam, Atul remarked that the terrorists conveyed a message discouraging people from traveling to Kashmir with the attack. He further stated that all Indians will surely visit because “Kashmir humara hai (Kashmir is ours). ” Atul also urged people to maintain their travel arrangements to Kashmir.

Atul expressed that he mourned the event that occurred on April 22 and considered what actions he could take. “The occurrence on the 22nd was a very sorrowful event; this should not have transpired. Upon reading about it, I contemplated that every time something of this nature happens, what actions do we actually take? We share on social media, we converse with friends, we write something, but then I pondered, what can I truly do in tangible action? I discovered that 90% of the reservations here had been cancelled, even though it’s peak season. It is essential for us to support Kashmiriyat and the people of Kashmir,” he stated.

Atul shares his thoughts on how to respond appropriately to terrorists

Talking about the tourism in Kashmir, Atul mentioned it's our duty to not abandon the Valley now. "So many people were coming here over the past 1-2 years. If we suddenly stop, the connection that was being established between the mainland and Kashmir shouldn't cease. . . The terrorists sent us the message, 'Don't come here. ' But no, we will come here, it's our Kashmir, we will come here in large numbers (People were coming here in huge numbers since the last 1-2 years. If we stop suddenly, the relationship that was getting formed between Kashmir and mainland shouldn’t stop. . . The terrorists gave us the message, 'Don’t come here. ' No, we will come here, it’s our Kashmir, we will come here in significant numbers. I urge people not to cancel their reservations. Visit here, it’s very safe here. If you have decided to travel somewhere else, cancel that and come to Kashmir. "

Atul wrote about his trip to Kashmir

Earlier, Atul took to his Instagram to post a collection of images capturing his trip from Mumbai to Srinagar. He shared photos of vacant flight seats and his boarding pass. Atul also uploaded a note that he received from the flight crew. Alongside the images, he wrote, "Mumbai to Srinagar. The crew mentions they were fully booked. We need to fill them up again. Chaliye ji, Kashmir chalein (Let’s go to Kashmir). "

Atul also shared a snapshot from Pahalgam. The actor provided additional glimpses from Kashmir—clear skies, flowing streams, and tranquil landscapes. He also included pictures of local Kashmiris holding signs that said, "We condemn this attack," and others displaying the National flag.

Atul Kulkarni further uploaded a photo on his Instagram account featuring a Hindi poem, accompanied by powerful hashtags that included #ChaloKashmir, #Feet_in_Kashmir, #Kashmiriyat, #Love_Compassion, and #DefeatTerror.

On April 22, terrorists targeted tourists at Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam, resulting in the deaths of 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen while leaving many others injured.
