Varun Dhawan is preparing for the release of his much-anticipated film, Baby John. Directed by Kalees, the movie features notable performances from Keerthy Suresh, who recently celebrated her marriage in Goa, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Jackie Shroff in significant roles. In anticipation of the film's grand release on Christmas, the Baby John team attended an event in Mumbai on December 18. During the press conference, filmmaker Atlee, who is producing Baby John, addressed the competition posed by Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna's current blockbuster, Pushpa 2: The Rule. The sequel to Pushpa: The Rise, which premiered on December 5, is experiencing remarkable success at the box office. Atlee expressed that he does not perceive it as a direct competition and mentioned that Allu Arjun had extended his congratulations to Varun Dhawan regarding Baby John.

Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2, helmed by Sukumar, continues to perform exceptionally well at the box office without any indication of a decline. Despite the actor's involvement in a stampede incident, the film has maintained a strong presence. It has successfully crossed the Rs 1000 crore milestone globally. During the event, Atlee inquired about the release of Baby John on December 25, coinciding with the ongoing theatrical run of Allu Arjun's film.

He informed the media that it constitutes an ecosystem. He emphasized that he and Allu Arjun share a strong friendship. They are set to release Baby John in the fourth week of December, and he urged that it should not be referred to as a clash. He clarified that there is no conflict involved. Acknowledging the shift of Pushpa 2 from August to December, he mentioned that their release has been strategically planned around Christmas. He concluded by stating that they are all professionals who understand how to navigate such situations.

In the same conversation, Atlee, the director of the 2023 film Jawan featuring Shah Rukh Khan, disclosed that Allu Arjun reached out to him and Varun Dhawan to extend his best wishes for Baby John. He remarked, "He congratulated me on the film and had a conversation with Varun. There exists a strong sense of friendship and affection within this community."

Baby John is an adaptation of the Tamil film Theri, directed by Atlee and starring Thalapathy Vijay. Notably, the film includes a special appearance by Salman Khan, whose brief appearance in the trailer has generated significant excitement among fans. The release date for Baby John is set for December 25, 2024.
