YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani took to Instagram to share that he’s bowing out as the host for a Valentine’s Day screening of Marvel’s Captain America: Brave New World in Mumbai. This decision follows some legal issues, as the Mumbai police have filed charges against him, Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, and other guests from India’s Got Latent for obscenity.

Ashish didn't bring up his legal issues, but he did say he can't host the screening because he's not feeling well. He shared, “Hey friends, I'm under the weather, so sadly I won't be able to make it and host the screening of 'Captain America: Brave New World' on Valentine's Day. But no worries, those who got selected can still go and enjoy the movie. I'm really going to miss you all! Love you 3000.”

Something went down

Ranveer, known as Beerbiceps, made a joke about incest during an episode of India’s Got Latent, which included guests like Ashish, Samay, and Apoorva Mukhija. As per PTI, the Mumbai police took statements from seven individuals, including Ashish, on Thursday. ANI also reported that the Assam Police has sent new summons to Ashish, Ranveer, Apoorva, Jaspreet Singh, and others due to a complaint alleging they are promoting obscenity. A senior official from the Assam Police confirmed that a team has been dispatched to Mumbai for further investigation.

Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia shared their thoughts

Ranveer faced some backlash for his joke and ended up apologizing, admitting it was a ‘lack of judgment’ on his part. He mentioned, “I don’t want to be someone who takes that responsibility lightly. Disrespecting family is the last thing I’d ever do. I really need to use this platform more wisely,” in a video he shared. Samay also spoke up about the situation, revealing that he’s removed all episodes of India’s Got Latent from YouTube. He added, “My main goal was to make people laugh and enjoy themselves. I’m ready to fully cooperate with any agencies to make sure their investigations are fair.”
