‘Jitni Umar Likhi Hai, Utni Likhi Hai’: Salman Khan Breaks Silence on Death Threats from Lawrence Bishnoi
3 days ago | 5 Views
Actor Salman Khan has been receiving death threats from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi for the past two years. In light of these threats, particularly following the death of his close friend and politician Baba Siddique, the actor's security measures have been significantly enhanced. Despite the prevailing tension, he remains focused on fulfilling his professional obligations.
The highly awaited film Sikandar, featuring him alongside Rashmika Mandanna, is scheduled to premiere this weekend. During a press conference on Wednesday to promote the movie, the actor addressed the ongoing threats to his life and the challenge of balancing his work commitments.
‘Bhagwan, Allah sab un par hai’
Addressing the ongoing death threats he has been facing, the 59-year-old actor expressed that his life is ultimately in God's hands. He stated, "God and Allah are in control. The length of my life is already determined. That is all there is to it. At times, managing so many people can lead to complications."
Death threats by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang
While Lawrence Bishnoi is incarcerated in Sabarmati jail in Ahmedabad for charges of attempted murder and extortion, his gang members reportedly fired shots outside Salman Khan's residence in Bandra in April of the previous year. The Navi Mumbai police have asserted that they uncovered a conspiracy by the Bishnoi gang to assassinate the actor as he traveled to his farmhouse in Panvel.
In October, an individual sent a menacing message via the traffic police's WhatsApp helpline, threatening to kill Salman Khan and Maharashtra NCP leader Zeeshan Siddique unless they paid ₹2 crore.
In November, Salman received yet another threat, this time demanding ₹5 crore from someone claiming to be Lawrence Bishnoi's brother. The message insisted that Salman apologize for the alleged killing of a blackbuck.
Lawrence Bishnoi has harbored a desire for revenge against the actor for the purported killing of a blackbuck during the filming of "Hum Saath Saath Hai" in 1998, as the blackbuck is considered sacred by the Bishnoi community.
Sikandar is set for Eid release
Salman is preparing for the upcoming release of the action film Sikandar, directed by A R Murugadoss, which is scheduled to premiere this Sunday. The cast includes Rashmika Mandanna, Sathyaraj, Kajal Aggarwal, and Sharman Joshi. The film is produced under Sajid Nadiadwala's Nadiadwala and Grandson Entertainment banner.
